Buhay Forest covers 10 hectares of foliage on top of an unnamed mountain. The summit offers a camping area equipped with a hut and a bathroom. The clearing faces a cliff, where visitors can rappel from (bring your own gear). The forest is home to a number of wild animals, including freewheeling monkeys and chickens. From the mountaintop are views of mango orchards that look like broccoli. Counterclockwise are Mt. Gumuhuhong Bundok (N), Mt. Marami (NW), Mt. Ulila (W), Mt. Ipus (SW), and Mt. Kaytalang (S). Reaching the summit of Buhay Forest takes only 30 minutes of trekking from a cemented road in Barangay San Agustin. Traversing to the other side, at Barangay Ramirez, takes an additional 30 minutes.

Muscovado Making
Attraction
1.81 km away

Muscovado is a healthy type of sugar, without the chemicals and processing of white and brown sugar. Cheap, local, and wholesome, muscovado makes for an excellent white sugar replacement, especially for people with diabetes. Interestingly, muscovado does not attract ants, unlike other processed sugars. Amidst sugarcane fields in Barangay Urdaneta in Magallanes, travelers can witness how muscovado is made the traditional way. At around 5:30 am, a water buffalo rotates a wooden trapiche, an old contraption that squeezes the juice out of sugarcanes. The juice is then boiled for five hours in a large cauldron until the juice is reduced to brown powder: muscovado. In a separate modern plant in Barangay Medina, travelers can watch how muscovado is made with the aid of machines. Muscovado de Magallanes Plant churns out 480 kilos of muscovado sugar a day.

Utod Falls
Attraction
5.38 km away

Utod Falls is a two-storey high waterfall in a secluded village in Magallanes, Cavite. Getting there entails trekking for 30 minutes through a forested area in Barangay Tua. The waterfall itself faces a wide and deep catch basin, prone to flash flood during typhoons. From the riverbank, visitors can also get to the top of the waterfall by following the steep trail at the left side. Taking only 10 minutes to hike, that trail leads to a stream surrounded with boulders. Up here, you can also visit its three hanging bridges.

Mag-asawang Bato
Attraction
7.93 km away

Mag-asawang Bato got its name from a pair of giant boulders situated in the middle of the river. The boulders are also known as "Paliguang Aso" (bath for dogs) among the locals, although dogs are rarely spotted bathing there. Fed by tributaries in Alfonso and Bailen, the river was once a hydroelectric energy source that powered a nearby rice mill. Today, only the moss-covered ruins of the dam remain. Mag-asawang Bato is located just below the Barangay Hall of Poblacion Dos. Visitors have to go down a long flight of stairs with about 160 steps to reach the river. It's a good spot for picnics, swimming, and river trekking.
